science based.
Goal Oriented.
result driven.
Reward-Based training has been scientifically studied and proven to be the most up-to-date, humane and effective method of training dogs today. It is grounded in science, develops with love, and requires you to be calm, consistent, & patient.
ā
Since dogs aren't born knowing what to do, it's our responsibility to guide them. When you teach your dog using Fear-Free methods and Positively Reward them when they Learn, they are likely to repeat those behaviors.
We specialize in Crate & Potty Training, Basic Obedience Commands, both inside and outside, Loose-Leash Walking, Mental Enrichment, Confidence Building, Exposure Training and Social Development, Surfaces and Sounds, Desensitization, Proper Manners, and Preventing Unwanted behaviors like Resource Guarding, puppy biting, Counter surfing, jumping, nuisance or demand barking, pulling on leash and minor cases of Reactivity.
Our goal is to help you form an unbreakable bond with your loyal companion that develops over time and never from fear. Rewarding every step with love will lead to an obedient dog that loves you unconditionally.

THE
RIGHT
TRAINER.
Teaching your dog to make great choices and behave properly is one of the most important responsibilities you have as an owner and choosing the right trainer can make all the difference.
ā
Reward-based, Fear-Free Trainers are very hard to find and sadly, intrusive methods and aversive tools like Prong-Collars, Choke-chains, and E-Collars are used every day as the primary and only form of training.
These methods should be the LAST resort of any training program and at The Bark Stop, we do not approve nor do we use any of these devices, at any time!!
ā
There are many knowledgeable people "training" dogs in the industry, so finding the right trainer for you can be overwhelming. Whether they are certified or not, if you meet or are working with a trainer that still uses words like "Alpha" and "Dominance" and/or tools like Prong-collars, choke-chains, and E-collars to teach or correct, then your dog is literally learning through PAIN, FEAR and FORCE!
ā
This doesn't sound like the loving bond every dog owner imagines...does it? Before you make a decision that impacts the health of your furry companion and the life-long bond between you, give us a call to learn more about our Fear Free, Reward-Based Training Programs for Puppies and Dogs.

ā

āso many ways to learn
Puppy Training
From the moment you bring your new pup home, we will help you set them up for success. Trust and Respect combined with rules
and boundaries ultimately
lead to a lasting bond

Basic Obedience
Obedience is more than just learning your basic Sit & Stay Commands. We help you connect to your dog with your heart instead of a collar and leash.

potty training
Arguably the first and most important lesson your puppy needs to learn. Whether you want your dog to use pads, grass, or both, we can make sure accidents in the house are a thing of the past.

crate training
Despite what you many think, Crate training is not just for potty training. Their are numerous benefits to giving your dog a "safe place" in your home that is also one of the happiest places ever!
outdoor training
Training outside in different environments is an essential skill that will allow you and your dog to enjoy more places and live your best lives, no matter where your adventure takes you.

Socialization
Some of us are better at making friends than others. Together we can show your pup how to explore new environments and become a true canine citizen

CONFIDENCE BUILDING
Helping your dog become a confident companion leads to a healthier, happier and more secure life. Let's overcome our fears together, run over some agility courses and down a path of greatness.

leash TRAINING
Walking properly on leash is one of the most important lessons your dog needs to learn. Let's do it right and perhaps we can do some "off-leash" training along the way.
